Safety Notice
Growing Years helps an adult organise a child's information and offers optional automated assistance. It does not provide medical care or emergency response and is not a substitute for professional judgement. This Notice applies from 20 August 2026.
Not medical advice
Growing Years and Anna provide organisational and general informational support only. They do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, calculate a safe dose for an individual child, monitor a child, or create a clinician-patient relationship. Content may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or inappropriate for your child's circumstances.
Ask a qualified clinician about symptoms, test results, medicines, allergies, growth, feeding, sleep, or any other health concern. Never disregard or delay professional advice because of the app or an AI response.
Emergencies and urgent concerns
Do not use Growing Years to obtain emergency help. If a child may be in immediate danger, is not breathing normally, is difficult to wake, has a severe allergic reaction, seizure, major injury, suspected poisoning or overdose, or another serious or rapidly worsening symptom, contact your local emergency number or poison service now and follow their instructions.
Do not wait for a notification, AI reply, document analysis, support response, or app update. Growing Years does not continuously observe the child and cannot alert emergency responders.
How to use AI output safely
Treat every AI response as an unverified starting point. Compare extracted values with the original photo or document, confirm that the response refers to the correct child and date, and ask a qualified professional before acting on health information. AI can invent facts, confuse units, omit warnings, misunderstand handwriting, or use outdated general knowledge.
Do not use AI output as the sole basis for a medical, medicine, emergency, safeguarding, legal, or financial decision. If the output conflicts with a clinician, prescription label, laboratory report, or emergency instruction, follow the qualified or official source and report the discrepancy to us.
Medicines and dose safety
Never start, stop, combine, substitute, or change a medicine or dose solely because of Growing Years. Verify the child's current weight, age, medicine name, concentration, units, route, timing, allergies, interactions, and the prescriber's instructions with a doctor or pharmacist. A decimal, unit, concentration, or transcription error can cause serious harm.
For a possible wrong dose, accidental ingestion, adverse reaction, or poisoning, contact the local poison service, emergency service, pharmacist, or clinician immediately as appropriate. Do not wait for the app.
Records, reminders, and device features
Growing Years is not the official medical record. Keep original prescriptions, reports, vaccination records, and care plans where needed. Check every imported, extracted, converted, or synchronised value before relying on it.
Notifications and calendar entries are conveniences, not clinical monitoring. Delivery can be late or fail because of device settings, network conditions, provider outages, timezone changes, battery controls, or permissions. Use a clinician-approved method for time-critical medicines, appointments, or care tasks.
Children and caregivers
An adult remains responsible for supervising use, deciding who may see a child's information, and coordinating care among parents, guardians, clinicians, schools, and other caregivers. Do not assume another person has seen an entry, notification, or AI response. Confirm urgent or important information directly through an appropriate channel.
Changes and contact
Editorial corrections to this Notice do not require acknowledgement again. A substantive change to the medical or emergency boundary, AI safety instructions, medicine warning, or reminder limitation receives a new Safety version and requires acknowledgement before AI is enabled again.
